SUMMARY:Hip Hop al Parc
DESCRIPTION:Babaflow is an Afro-Catalan artist with a solid track record in urban music\, known for his fusion of rap\, afrobeat\, reggae and trap. He is also the founder of the educational project Ritme & Flow\, from where he uses music as a tool for expression and social transformation. His live performance is energetic\, conscious and close\, with rhymes that connect with the audience and a clear message of community\, identity and positive attitude. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Vinnie Kairos & Brietwieser come to Hip Hop al Parc to present their first work called “Calamitats” for the first time in the province of Girona. A creative process in phases (2020/2025) that has changed them inside and out. Spatial samples and acidic lyrics in the pure prograp style of Pol. A work where most of their friends are present\, putting La Zipera Records and Radio Rahim Records! on the map. \n \n \n \n \n \n Flavia Beaka\, her rhymes in Madrid are law\, just like her word. The artist of Equatorial Guinean descent always shows herself strict\, sincere and forceful in the lyrical section with uncompromising lyrics\, generating contrasts with her ability and talent to sing and create magical choruses when the moment requires it. Versatility\, then\, is another of her great virtues. \n \nFar from stagnation and always attentive to what is cooking on the scene\, her live show is always a safe bet for Hip Hop lovers.

SUMMARY:Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re a believer or not\, the Gospel represents good news. Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers’ “The Gospel Of Jesamy” is a personal journey of good news that begins with the birth of a baby girl named Jesamy\, Arp Frique’s daughter. The Amsterdam-based multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and producer returns with a new album full of gospel funk inspired by his offspring. The lesson is simple and universal: we all need love\, unconditional love. \nThis new album is a profound journey across 7 tracks\, where Arp Frique channels his love of organic\, funk-based music\, filled with dark synths\, bubbling basslines\, and swirling guitars to deliver a hybrid of old and new that could be described as a mix of P-funk and gospel-disco. \nLegendary vocalists abound on this Gospel: Dennis Bovell channels his inner funkadelic on “Look Up Johnny”; diva Muriel Blijd takes a solo on “Father Father”; and long-time harp collaborator Mariseya joins the vocal team throughout the album. \nLive on stage\, Arp Frique is surrounded by a cosmic gospelfunk family\, including legendary Los Angeles-born singer Rocq-E Harrell. In his decades-long career\, Rocq-E has sung with many of the greats\, providing studio vocals for artists such as Stevie Wonder\, Patti Labelle\, and Earth Wind & Fire. Rocq-E has also toured with Diana Ross and Barry White\, to name a few. Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers have secured support from artists such as Gilles Peterson\, Louie Vega\, and Moodymann\, leading to an energetic start to the live show\, as they have performed at We Out Here\, Oya\, Flow\, Way Out West\, North Sea Jazz\, and many other major festivals across Europe.

DESCRIPTION:The Black Music Big Band Junior (BMBB Junior)\, created in September 2018\, is the younger version of the original Black Music Big Band project. With the same passion for black music\, this project offers younger musicians an introduction to the world of soul and funk. The BMBB Junior is a training platform that seeks to be the gateway for the little ones\, helping them explore and delve into the musical styles of Black Music. \n \nDespite being a young formation\, the BMBB Junior has already accumulated numerous performances in prestigious venues\, such as the Copa stage and the Sant Felix stage of the Sant Narcís Fairs in Girona\, the Girona Auditorium in the tribute to Aretha Franklin\, the Parc del Migdia at the Black Music Picnic\, La Mirona\, the Fira de Luthiers de la Cellera de Ter\, and in other locations such as Torroella de Montgrí\, Palamós and Calonge\, among others. One of the highlights of their career was the tribute concert to The Commitments in October 2021\, which featured the special collaboration of Andrew Strong\, the protagonist of the original film. \n \nThrough this project\, BMBB Junior contributes to training and inspiring new generations of musicians\, fostering a link with black music that goes beyond the stage\, and becomes a key piece in the promotion of Black Music among the youngest in Catalonia.

SUMMARY:Dona Negra Canta
DESCRIPTION:Dona Negra Canta is a project that claims the central role of African-American women in the construction and dissemination of Blues\, Jazz\, Rhythm’n’Blues and Soul during the first half of the 20th century. \nStrong\, empowered and fighting women who\, in a totally adverse context and circumstances\, stood up to a society that discriminated against them for their skin color\, and to an industry\, that of entertainment\, that looked down on them for being women. Their work and life served as an example for many other women\, who were able to see their daily experience reflected in their songs and find inspiration in them. \nDona Negra Canta reinterprets classics by Bessie Smith\, Ma’ Rainey\, Sister Rosetta Tharpe\, Nina Simone or Etta James\, while recovering hidden pearls from artists such as Lil’ Green\, Odetta or Memphis Minnie\, in a concert that aims to search for the deep feeling of spirituals and the Blues.

SUMMARY:Silverflame
DESCRIPTION:Silverflame has rock as its identity\, with its own repertoire that moves between psychedelic landscapes\, roots rock and sonic intensity. \nThe Girona band embarked on a high-flying journey in 2017 with a solid lineup\, led by the vibrant voice of Sheila Endekos\, the imposing guitars of Jordi Turon and Jep Vilaplana and a powerful rhythm section with Javi Galván on bass and Jordi Vila on drums. In 2024\, Fran Esquiaga joined the keyboards and the band took a new flight with the release of their second album ‘Fly On’\, which was released in September 2025 and was preceded by the single ‘Some More Blues’\, a song with that aftertaste of ‘Old Time Rock & Roll’! \nSilverflame is intensity and feeling\, rock in its purest form.

SUMMARY:Black Music Big Band & Friends- 10 anys
DESCRIPTION:The Black Music Big Band training musical project is celebrating its 10th anniversary and is celebrating with a very special concert at Mirona: Artists such as Ramon Mirabet\, Lildami\, Miquel Abras\, Genni Knows\, La Jana i en Pau del Pot Petit\, Albert Fort\, Pau Marquès or the JOCG String Quintet will collaborate with the big band in this unique concert. \nThe Black Music Big Band is much more than a musical formation. It is an educational and social project that\, for a decade\, has been accompanying young people from the Girona region in their artistic and personal growth. Promoted by the Casa de la Música Foundation and the Black Music Festival\, the initiative uses soul\, funk and modern music as tools for transformation\, cohesion and opportunities. \nFounded in 2016\, the BMBB offers musical training to young people between 9 and 25 years old through different stages: the Black Music Big Band Junior (9 to 15 years old)\, the BMBB (16 to 25 years old) and the Black Music Choir (a cappella voices). The project also participates in the musical training of children in Girona Est with the Música a l’Est program\, and promotes musical dissemination in secondary schools with the proposal “A morning of soul and funk”\, where high school students discover these genres and experience a live concert. \nIn these ten years\, the BMBB has developed a wide range of thematic projects: tributes to Aretha Franklin\, to Motown\, a big band review of the Red Hot Chili Peppers\, a tribute to Tina Turner\, a show dedicated to The Commitments and two disco music shows -Disco Fever I and II- created together with the Jove Orquestra de Corda de les Comarques Gironines.

SUMMARY:Koko-Jean & The Tonics
DESCRIPTION:The vibrant Barcelona-based soul and rhythm and blues band\, Koko-Jean & The Tonics\, returns with their new single ‘Love Child’\, a teaser that gives the title to their long-awaited second album that will be released in the fall. With ‘Love Child’\, Miss Koko-Jean Davis (vocals)\, Dani Baraldés (guitar)\, Víctor Puertas (Hammond) and Marc Benaiges (drums) offer us a summer hit that captures the nostalgic essence of the Motown sound of the 60s\, evoking the warmth of a summer in Brooklyn\, where young people fall in love to the rhythm of the Temptations. \nAfter their acclaimed debut album with the EP Hairwhip in February 2020\, produced by Dani Nel·lo\, and the EP Please Mr. Milton in October of the same year\, where they had the participation of the saxophonist as a guest\, the band has continued to leave their mark on the music scene with their fresh and energetic sound. \nIn October 2021\, they released their first album\, Shaken & Stirred\, and since then they have been touring tirelessly throughout the Peninsula\, France\, Portugal and Italy\, and have participated in prominent cycles such as Artistes En Ruta and Girando Por Salas. In addition\, in 2022 they released the 7” Sick & Tired with two unreleased songs and in 2023 they appeared as guests on the popular TV3 program ‘Eufòria’. \n– – – – – – – – – – \n \nThe tenor saxophone was one of the cornerstones on which rhythm and blues was built. Its sound was the first voice of sonic insurrection against the established musical system\, breaking racial and social barriers. Although the saxophone had already played a prominent role in both the big band era and Be Bop\, it was at the end of the 1940s that it emerged as a synonym for rebellion\, giving way to Rock and roll. \n‘Los Saxofonistas Salvajes’ amplifies the voice of the musicians who initiated and continued this visceral and wild language. With this formation\, Dani Nel·lo collects the testimony of this musical tradition with the desire to prevent the light with which those saxophonists once shone as authentic stars from being extinguished.
