DESCRIPTION:After the great success of the DISCO FEVER show by the Black Music Big Band and the JOGC\, the two bands are coming together again to offer DISCO FEVER VOL.2\, a new proposal of disco music performed live by more than 40 musicians! A concert with strong emotions where it will be impossible to stay seated\, with a repertoire made up of artists such as Donna Summer\, Olivia Newton-John\, The Jacksons\, Irene Cara\, Bee Gees or Village People! \nThe Black Music Big Band is an initiative of the Fundació Casa de la Música de les comarques Gironas and the Black Music Festival\, an educational musical formation that aims to provide a practical and pedagogical experience in the world of big bands\, but with a repertoire focused on black music. For its part\, the Orquestra Jove de les Comarques Gironines (JOGC) is a musical formation made up of young musicians from various towns in the Girona region\, which offers a platform for young musical talents from the region so that they can develop their performing skills in an orchestral environment.

SUMMARY:Taller de Brass Band amb Hip Horns
DESCRIPTION:This brass band workshop\, taught by Àlvar Monfort and Albert Costa\, founders of Hip Horns Brass Collective\, aims to bring the New Orleans style closer to people of all ages. \nTo learn about the historical roots of this musical style\, we will talk about the context in which African slaves laid the foundations of jazz in Congo Square\, we will explain how the music they played there ended up transforming into what we know today as jazz and modern music\, and how traditions such as those of the second line of New Orleans were established. \nWe will work on key concepts when playing this musical style (articulations\, dynamics\, backgrounds\, improvisation…) through a repertoire made up of some of the most important songs in the modern brass band tradition\, as well as some of the most representative songs and arrangements of Hip Horns. It will be done with a “classic” modern brass band formation: trumpets\, trombones\, saxophones\, sousaphone\, bass drum and snare drum\, but the workshop is also open to other wind instruments such as flutes\, clarinets or euphoniums. \nTo close the session\, the songs worked on in the workshop will be performed outside La Marfà. \nBy: Àlvar Monfort and Albert Costa\, founders of Hip Horns Brass Collective. It was when Annie married Willie Joe Caldwell (also tours with the Staples\, guitar) that she started a family and a band. His sons make up the rhythm section and his three daughters sing. This next generation has brought their own powerful influence to the band’s sound: it’s disco\, it’s R&B\, it’s soul. \nAnnie and her family’s new album was recorded at a small house of worship called The Message Center\, across the street from Annie and Joe’s home in West Point\, Mississippi\, in October 2023. The Caldwells use it as rehearsal space when not in use for services. Annie’s daughter\, Deborah Caldwell\, is a real thunder and a major presence in the band\, musically and personally.

This is how the artist from Premia lands in ‘Hip-Hop in the park’\, supported by Deps Music and Dj Enzo\, he will present us with the latest EP Marbre\, without neglecting the works that have led him to become one of the references of rap in Catalan\, the #guarap arrives in Girona. \n \nBorn in Barcelona in 1993\, Elane was interested in urban music from an early age. Influenced by the Hip Hop of the 90s and 00s\, she started composing her first songs at the age of 17 and went on stage for the first time in 2018. In her lyrics\, Elane reflects a clear social\, revolutionary and feminist theme. After several successful singles such as “Hiprofenia”\, “Axinita” or “Niente” packaged in 2020 in the digital EP ‘#Sondeesas’\, the artist celebrated this first digital release with the presentation of a 7-inch vinyl of ‘limited edition with the celebrated “Hiprofenia” on side A and the unreleased track “Otra copa” on B.
