The tenor saxophone was one of the cornerstones on which rhythm and blues was built. Its sound was the first voice of sonic insurrection against the established musical system, breaking racial and social barriers. Although the saxophone had already played a prominent role in both the big band era and Be Bop, it was at the end of the 1940s that it emerged as a synonym for rebellion, giving way to Rock and roll.

‘Los Saxofonistas Salvajes’ amplifies the voice of the musicians who initiated and continued this visceral and wild language. With this formation, Dani Nel·lo collects the testimony of this musical tradition with the desire to prevent the light with which those saxophonists once shone as authentic stars from being extinguished.

The vibrant Barcelona-based soul and rhythm and blues band, Koko-Jean & The Tonics, returns with their new single ‘Love Child’, a teaser that gives the title to their long-awaited second album that will be released in the fall. With ‘Love Child’, Miss Koko-Jean Davis (vocals), Dani Baraldés (guitar), Víctor Puertas (Hammond) and Marc Benaiges (drums) offer us a summer hit that captures the nostalgic essence of the Motown sound of the 60s, evoking the warmth of a summer in Brooklyn, where young people fall in love to the rhythm of the Temptations.

After their acclaimed debut album with the EP Hairwhip in February 2020, produced by Dani Nel·lo, and the EP Please Mr. Milton in October of the same year, where they had the participation of the saxophonist as a guest, the band has continued to leave their mark on the music scene with their fresh and energetic sound.

In October 2021, they released their first album, Shaken & Stirred, and since then they have been touring tirelessly throughout the Peninsula, France, Portugal and Italy, and have participated in prominent cycles such as Artistes En Ruta and Girando Por Salas. In addition, in 2022 they released the 7” Sick & Tired with two unreleased songs and in 2023 they appeared as guests on the popular TV3 program ‘Eufòria’.
